Mandatory Palestine, officially known as Palestine, was a British administrative territory between 1920 and 1948 in the region of Palestine. From 1922, under the terms of the League of Nations, it was a mandated territory, administered by the British under the Mandate for Palestine. The British High Commissioner under the Colonial Office led Mandatory Palestine.
